COM Bridging
An area of particular expertise is interfacing with COM servers, such as the Microsoft Office suite, as a means of presenting data using familiar software. Using such a bridge could, for example, populate an Excel spreadsheet with database data, or generate automated Word documents. Excel example »
The Component Object Model is easily bridged with Java and other programming languages. The mechanism lends itself to Windows application automation either locally or remotely via DCOM.
